Susan Maureen Boyer

Susan Maureen Boyer (Chadwick) was born and raised in Vancouver and grew up

with 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Her career with the Royal Bank of Canada saw her

living in a variety of locations in BC before settling in Duncan. She first met Doug

in Kamloops and after moving back to the lower mainland she and Doug were

married in December 1983. They both continued to work for the Royal Bank at

various branches in the lower mainland and on Vancouver Island until they retired in

2004.

Sue enjoyed playing tennis, golfing and cycling. Together she and Doug travelled

extensively around the world with winters usually spent in warmer climates including

Australia where they had family. Sue was fond of visiting museums and attended

live theatre and musical performances in London, New York and Australia.

Predeceased by her parents and her 3 brothers (Danny, Donny and David), Sue is

survived by her husband and best friend Doug; Doug’s children Keith (Robyn),

Gillian, Scott (Flick) and 4 grandchildren (Angus, Evan, Ruth and Jade) in

Australia; Her sisters Judy, Patricia (Bob); Doug’s brother Gary (Debbie) and

sister Nancy as well as 6 nieces and nephews (Amanda, Kurtis, Laura, Christy,

Daryl and Julie), together with 6 great-nieces and great-nephews (Indie, Camilla,

Finn, Lucky, Bloom, McKenzie), all in British Columbia.

Family was important to Sue and she thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her

extended family and especially enjoyed the time spent with her sisters on their

regular “Sisters’ Trips”.

Together with Doug, Sue travelled to many parts of the world to explore and

experience new environments. She especially enjoyed the regular trips to Australia

to see the “kids” and to celebrate the milestones in their lives.

She and Doug discovered that they enjoyed cruising and often chose this means of

transportation when they visited Australia.

Sue certainly enjoyed a good hearty laugh and all the fun things in life and

especially sharing those enjoyable and special times with Doug.

One of the things that Sue particularly enjoyed was the fishing trips that she went

on off the west coast of Vancouver Island. She never revealed whether it was the

art of catching or the taste of halibut on a plate that was the best part.

In life we loved you dearly.

In death we love you still.
