With Love, we honor the legacy of Hendrik ‘Hank’ Busscher, who passed away in Duncan BC on February 7th, 2026. He didn’t have a middle name but always teased it was ‘Salvador’
He had an infectious smile, a wonderful sense of humor, a huge heart filled with love for everyone and a true spirit of adventure.
He was born in Assen, Holland on January 18th, 1944 to Johannes and Hendrikje. Where he lived with his 7 brothers and sisters.
Hank always excelled. As an athlete, coach, fisherman, fireman, millwright, Husband, Father, Opa, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend.
Survived by the love of his life of 60 years and soul mate, Wanda. They filled their lives together with family, friends, new experiences and loved having a good time.
His children were his everything, Michelle, Cindy (Darryl), Darrin (Jeanine)
And his grandchildren were his pride and joy, Trent (Tamara), Katie (Simon), Tarissa (Ahren), Alyssa, Kienan, Tyler, Jarrod and Remi.
His sister in law, Starr (Mike) meant the world to him and was more than just family.
He moved to Canada in 1963 to Merritt, BC then relocated to Vancouver Island where he lived for the remainder of his life.
Holland always held a special place in his heart, but home was where his wife was.
Hank loved to travel, fish, watch the Vancouver Canucks, camp, play cards and host dinners. As long as he was with family and friends having fun, he was a happy man. And a good sale always excited him.
The family would like to give a special Thank You to Dr. Ismail and the staff at Cerwydden for their love, support and guidance through this difficult time.
